Our research is aimed at understanding autonomic consequences after spinal cord injury (SCI), particularly lower urinary tract and cardiovascular disorders. We first elucidate spinal neural mechanisms regulating autonomic adaptation, and then employ multiple approaches, such as neural progenitor cell transplantation, axon regeneration, and cell reprogramming, to reconstitute disrupted supraspinal pathways for autonomic functional recovery following SCI.
