Research Summary
Dr. Bornali Kundu is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon who specializes in epilepsy surgery and movement disorder surgery, such as implanting deep-brain stimulation devices for Parkinson’s disease. Her lab studies how the human brain performs memory tasks and how brain stimulation can change memory networks. The goal is to find mesoscale mechanisms that control memory and cognition. Her lab also studies how epileptic networks can be isolated using brain stimulation-based methods. The lab studies neural data from patients with epilepsy who are able to perform cognitive tasks. The lab uses digital signal processing and machine learning methods to analyze data.
