Research Summary
Dr. Susanta Behura’s research focuses on computational biology and bioinformatics. The application and development of computational tools for the analysis of large-scale biological data are major interests of the Behura Lab.
The lab uses multi-omics data, including transcriptomics, epigenetics, metabolomics, proteomics, and single-cell genomics, to address fundamental questions relating to animal genetics, and reproductive biology. The lab’s current research aims are to better understand the regulation of fetal brain development in animals. Their future goals are to investigate how early-life stress and abnormalities affect brain health and the development of diseases later in life. The goals are to contribute to fundamental biological questions and to accelerate the transition from basic science to translational research.
